We recently unveiled a refreshed brand identity: new logo, new color palette, and a redesigned website. It’s our first major marketing update and one we wanted to be more than a cosmetic change. Every element was deliberately designed and built to tell the story of what we do and why we exist.
Our new logo draws its inspiration from the Pileated Woodpecker. These persistent creatures detect what’s hidden beneath a tree’s surface to find and remove threats like carpenter ants. Their efforts help protect the tree’s health in the process, which is the same foundation on which we built MADERA.
We help manufacturers uncover the root causes of operational inefficiencies that aren’t often visible on a shift report. The woodpecker logo distills this idea into something more precise and modern. It’s a symbol that represents precision, insight, and action.
Our color palette also draws from the Pileated Woodpecker’s contrasting hues. The black and white reflect the same precision and focus at the center of our brand: sharp, deliberate, and unambiguous. The bright red is a nod to the woodpecker’s crest. It’s the color of action and draws the eye to what needs attention.
Lastly, we added beams of light in the images on our website. This represents the movement of data across a plant floor, from downtime alerts at a machine center to the insight a team can act on. It’s a visual translation of our new tagline, “Insight Into Action.”
This brand update also reflects how much our product itself has grown. We began by helping manufacturers make sense of downtime data through ASPEN. Since then, our platform has expanded significantly. BIRCH added root cause analysis and action planning, and CEDAR now brings lumber quality management into the suite. Plus, our new BI and API capabilities now let teams connect our data into their own reporting and systems.
Our mission, though, remains the same. We continue to operate on the belief that data alone doesn’t improve performance—action does. Our new look represents that mission more accurately; it doesn’t redefine it.
But beneath the new look, the fundamentals of the MADERA experience remain untouched. Workflows within ASPEN and BIRCH continue to operate as they always have. Customer data has not been migrated, altered, or restructured. And login credentials and access permissions are the same.
It’s no accident that our name means “wood” in Spanish. A woodpecker spends its life listening for what’s hidden inside it, and we spend ours doing the same for your operation. Everything about this refresh is a new way of saying that more clearly.
